William What brand of low voltage boxes did you use especially the one behind the TV in the Great Room. I need to get everything ordered as I have about 2 weeks to get the last of my materials to pre wire.. Thanks
Every LV box I use is Arlington. I use the LVS1 and LVS2 for typical boxes as I prefer the screw mount to the nail-on.
The box in the great room is the Arlington TVB713. This box is great. I ran a 1.25" conduit from the LV side of the box down to the basement to run HDMI and other feed cables later on. I used the TVBU507 in the study.
William, Couple of questions for you: 1. Should I get in ceiling speakers installed in rooms we might want on the 1st floor to future proof the house or rely on the existing Sonos speakers to sit on cabinets (eg. in Kitchen, Morning Room) 2. Would a system like LyriQ be overkill if we plan on using Sonos to source our music?
My thoughts are that we might want to add in ceiling speakers in the bedrooms at a later date and could get to the attic and add them at any point but won't have that luxury in the main floor. I want to spend the money at the right time with how we use the services.
Hey William,
ReplyDeleteI was just curious to know if you got the email I sent to you?
thanks
I did get your email and have been away the last few days. I will be back in the office tomorrow and will begin to answer these questions.
DeleteThanks!
William

Also, do you have a map of what you did on the LV side as you have shown on the electrical end?
