We got quite a bit accomplished this weekend!
We moved a large amount of our big items on Friday and then followed up Saturday with almost all of the rest of them. I had foot surgery back in April and was certainly feeling the impacts from that during this process!
We set up almost all of the furniture around the house.
We started to fill our cabinets and pantry.
We installed the new stove.
We installed the new dishwasher.
We installed our washer and dryer.
We built steps out of our back door.
We set up yard irrigation with hoses and sprinklers on timers.
We bought new lighting for in the garage (more on that in another post).
We measured all of the windows for shades.
We went to the regional market on Sunday (Flea Market day) and didn't find much.
We accomplished more than this list, but things moved so quickly and we weren't taking notes. We're both exhausted and are taking a rest day for most of today.
Early in the mornings there has been condensation on the outside of our windows. Seems to be happening since the A/C was installed. Likely not a concern. |
Installed the new stove. |
Getting our washer and dryer up these stairs was not fun!! |
Both washer and dryer are now installed and functional. |
We saw these stools at Panda Express. We'd like to find something similar for the kitchen island. |
I removed the RH provided safety barrier and got to work on a set of steps. |
I dug a brace down into the soil. All in this took about an hour and ran around $95 in materials from Home Depot. |
I removed the white outlets from the side of the kitchen island and replaced them with brown ones. |
It's so funny how RH does things slightly different in each community -- I was snooping this weekend, and in our neighborhood, if there are dark cabinets, they install a dark outlet standard. Obviously not a big cost outlay to you or RH, but just interesting how each community is different. Congratulations on getting that washer & dryer up the stairs -- my back hurts just even thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteOh that sucks! Shredding wood right next to your house, ugh! The closest construction is a house being framed 3 lots away from us, but I can always count on loud latin music playing when I walk out my front door. I do feel for you guys. The first couple of weeks is the roughest, but it is fun to see your house come together.
ReplyDeleteThe condensation on the windows has led to a huge problem in our Ryan rental home. I discovered mold all around the window frames a few months ago. I now have to take a dry towel and wipe down the all the windows with condensation on them every morning.
ReplyDeleteWe are building a Ryan home now and we will be installing a humidity thermostat instead of a temperature based thermostat in our new house to combat the humidity (which is what causes the condensation).
Is your condensation on the inside? I could definitely see that being a problem when the humidity inside is too high. I would check to make sure the balancing fan is running on a program and that the home has dehumidifiers.
DeleteOur condensation is on the outside of our windows, which I attribute to keeping or house fairly cool and the warm humid nights we were having.
Condensation on the inside only usually happens in the winter when using a humidifier and having it turned up to high when it is really cold outside. In the summer the condensation is usually on the outside like what William said.
