Framing Complete

Rough framing is finished. The electricians have begun their work placing boxes.  The roofers are slated to start Monday (tomorrow).

One item we noticed was missing from the framing job was the access to the second (lower roof line on the right).  It should be in the master closet wall, but was not framed in.  PM is looking into it.

Otherwise, here are some pics!

Current exterior.  Siding mounting blocks in place (plus the one we added in the eave).  Dumpster delivered.

View into the morning room. Yes, we got some heavy rain.

I had the mounting block for the meter extended to add my low voltage wiring panel for audio, video, network and security.

First Interior Shots

Met with our PM today.  Some good news is that we might be able to bring the sump pump to a location that would be more preferable!

I took lots of pictures, but in the process learned that my GoPro Hero 4 Black with no preview screen is not the ideal solution for this.  We'll go back soon and take plenty more with a better camera.  For now, ignore the fisheye effect from the lens!

Framing Mostly Finished

We drove by again tonight and saw that the structure looked mostly complete.  There are a few areas missing sheathing, but it looks like everything is up otherwise.

A couple notes:
-I'm reaching out the the PM about our sump pump location.  After seeing various other pictures online, I am really not happy with the location we chose.
-I realized today that I made a mistake on the yard space drawing I did. I checked the math, but I didn't check it well enough.  I actually drew in almost ten additional feet of yard depth that we won't have because the values didn't add up.  I'm going to re-draw those and post a new update.  Obviously this is saddening, but we'll still have more yard than we have now.

Panoramic Shots

I'll do some higher quality pans in the future with a tripod and better camera, but whipped these together with my phone. This whole section of our community will be full in the next few months!

Roof Trussing and Sheathing

Stopped by today and had a conversation with our neighbor Bill.  He's been great and we're looking forward to being neighbors!

Our framing is nearly complete.  Based on the pace these guys are going and the amount of time left in the day, I assume that tonight they will have the remaining gable (over the garage) in place and the sheathing completed over the garage (the right side of the house was already done by the time I drove away).

Roof trusses are up and the main roof is sheathed.

From Bill's yard we saw the guys sheathe the lower roof line in the back.

Closer shot of the front.

We watched them drive the remaining garage gable across the street.  Thought we might get to see it get put up but no such luck.

They put it down in the driveway right after bringing it over.

Then went back to sheathing the lower roof.  This sheathing was complete by the time I drove away.

Second Floor Framing

These photos are from yesterday afternoon.  We went to see the site and the guys were still working as late as 8pm.  Commitment!

The thunderstorms that were in the forecast for this week (as of late last week) have completely fallen off the radar and there has been no rain so far this week!

First Floor Framing

The crew was on site for Saturday, Sunday and Monday of this long weekend!

Lots of pictures to share.  The PM has said the goal is to have the structure up by Thursday and be working on the roof going into the weekend.  He has an aggressive timeline of trying to get the mechanical, electrical and plumbing in next week.

More to come in the next few days!
