Framing Mishaps
Two issues came up on 06-06-2015 when I was in the house to install boxes/brackets for the low voltage wiring.
First:
Attic access to lower level
This was missed in the initial framing. With the Sitting Area upgrade the door to the lower attic (over the Study and the Great Room) is in the master closet near the center of the house.
I brought this to the attention of my PM when we were onsite together. He checked the plans and confirmed that the access should be there - and that the framers would have to put it in next time they were onsite.
As of my time in there on 6/13 the fix had been put into place. Insulation was done on 6/16, but more on that in another post.
Second:
Master bedroom door location
I didn't initially notice this. We were considering the location of some of the switches and realized that the door wasn't in the right place! I mentioned it to the PM and he said he would look into it. Eventually he called and said they would be moving it very close to the location on the plan, but it would be a few inches away from that due to the cold air return location in the mechanical chase.
I will update with a picture of where the door has been moved to, but it has been satisfactorily corrected. Good stuff!

Audio, Video & Network
Speaker Layout
I will be installing whole-home-audio in-ceiling speaker pairs in:
The following rooms will have 7.2 surround sound setups:
Network/Structured Layout
I am wiring at least two Cat-6/Coax lines to every room in the house.
I am wiring for two ceiling-mount wireless access point locations on the first floor, one in the sitting room, and eventually one outdoor.
Control Panel wiring will go to a few locations TBD. Likely Kitchen, Great Room, Study, Mudroom and Foyer.
Expect another post with pictures from inside the home and a diagram in the near future. I have the house to myself to wire all of this weekend and will be there all day Saturday and all day Sunday to get this done.
Tonight, however, we are going to see Lindsey Stirling to unwind a little before crunch time!

Just a quick note here that I have a few drafts running from the last week of updates. I will be posting them all soon with pictures!
For now, here is the fully wrapped exterior.

| Took this pic of where Bed 3 meets the garage overhang area. It is dead space as it sits, so we may eventually cut a closet opening here for some extra storage. |

Kitchen Counter Changes
So, the PM called today to let me know that there are two changes to be made in the kitchen.
First, the island is too deep (47"). This is beyond the maximum of 42" for the beveled edge offered with the Formica 180fx upgrade. So, the island needs to have a squared off edge. While I think we would have preferred the better edge, this is fine as within the first number of years we plan to upgrade to quartz.
Second, our color was discontinued by the manufacturer. We had originally selected the Travertine Silver. We went back into the selections center today and picked out Crema Mascarello as the replacement color.
I have asked to use this coming weekend to install the low voltage brackets throughout the house and also to install the ceiling brackets for the speakers.
The roofers have not begun yet, the hope is that they start tomorrow but there has not been a confirmation yet. Mechanical items are on hold until the roof is on. The electricians continue to rough in their items.
Unfortunately that is all there is to update at this point.
